While the spirt is willing and the fleshis bruse

So I'm a couple days late, but I beat Tales of Vesperia a couple days ago. In my opinion, it was absolutely lovely. I'm also not going to spoil anything, since I know I have a decent number of Tales players on my list, or people otherwise interested in playing the game. But it was really, really good.

Some thoughts on the game. No spoilers. )

Yeah, I have a massive crush on this entire game. Every character. I am a whore for the polygons. Especially Raven, because he brought more lulz to the game than Mirror's Edge brought curses to my lips (and anyone who IM'd me even remotely around the time I was playing that knows the horror and emptiness of death itself). He was like Zelos times a million but more awesome, which is saying a lot because Zelos was my favorite character from Symphonia. I wish this game was getting the full anime treatment and not just a movie (even if it is going to be in theaters and stuff)... I'll watch the crap out of the movie, but still.

And there's some weird fascination around the moustache attachments in the game, but I'm not complaining. TALES OF MOUSTACHIA, 10/10. It's officially one of my favorite games. Going to replay the whole thing again in about 4 weeks for a full 100% completion. The first time through, without 100% completion? 107 hours. Yeah, that's how much I love this game.

Now, off to bed so that I'm not COMPLETELY dead tomorrow. As if 4 hours is enough sleep... but it's better than what I've been getting (haven't been able to sleep due to my coughing). Going in for my second-to-last day of work tomorrow. Shazam!

And now 3550 hit max. I could've kept going, but I'm tired and it's time to roll over and go to sleep in my clothes or something (not really, but I've been accidentally doing this a lot lately so hey).

I got my hair re-dyed. It's redder than ever, and I like it a lot. I love my hairdresser, she's adorable. That was also the first time I've been out of the house since I went to the ER. So weird.

I went to the fireworks tonight. It was marvelous to have human contact again. So much love. Must do more with people, especially before I'm whisked away to the beach (fffffffffffffff noooo). I still don't really want to go to the beach, but it'll be a nice opportunity to actually get some reading done for once. And there's Otakon in the middle of the two weeks I'm there, so that'll be a welcome break. Still unsure about costumes. Will probably do Haruhi again, since it's rather simple and easy.

I'm going back to work on Monday. I'm really nervous about being provided with the info I need to be provided with. Going to make an attempt to have a finished product by Wednesday that I can give to them to tweak to perfection while I'm gone. Eight hour days, here I come again!

Disjointed and I'm tired good night ladies.

Also,

(7:15:39 PM) Josh: You're endearingly abrasive.
(7:15:39 PM) Kelly: LOL BRB HITTING ON WOMEN MOAR
(7:15:57 PM) Josh: Like David is endearingly offensive.

OBJECTION! The timestamps clearly show that truer words were never spoken looooool. Oh, you hometown kiddos keep me young.

Tales of Vesperia is reminding me why I spread my JRPG playthroughs far apart. I've logged 60 hours on the game and I just started the end game clean-up. I hardly did ANY of the sidequests through the game because I was initially just planning to do a story playthrough before I realized I loved it as much as I do. ... so after I do some endgame to pick up my final weapons, artes, and armor/attachments, I'm going to farm GRADE, beat the game, and start an EX New Game, using the GRADE to carry everything over. I'd like to 100% complete the game, so...

Left 4 Dead just came from GameFly, so going to start screwing around with that soon. I beat all of the campaigns with my friends at college, but I'd like to play a little bit myself. Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon is also on the way, because yay Insomniac platformers. Speaking of which, I'm going to try and do a run-through of the original Ratchet and Clank soon.

Main focus is going to be on ToV until I 100% it. That game my single-handedly cause me to not beat as many games as I planned this summer. Oh well! I love it.

I can't decide whether to bring my 360 to the beach or not. On the one hand, I'd definitely be able to finish up a ToV 100% by the end of it. On the other, I'm nervous about moving my 360 a lot and moving it to an environment like that. I could just bring my PS2 (which is dying anyway) and use it for as long as it will go to beat shorter titles like ICO, Shadow of the Colossus, and Ratchet and Clank. Maybe I should take a break after this playthrough of ToV and wait on the completion run until the beginning of August so I don't burn out on it... Now that I think about it, that sounds like a much better idea.

I dunno, I'll figure something out! Hopefully will be going back to work on Thursday. ._. Blah sickness.

So...

Saturday morning I woke up suddenly when I breathed in and well... nothing came in. After what seemed like forever of trying to vibrate my throat to clear the way, lifting my arms up over my head and all those stupid techniques that they teach you, I managed to get a tiny little airhole open in my throat, and proceeded to scream as loud as I could through it. Needless to say, my mom couldn't hear me since she was on almost the completely opposite side of the house and on a different floor. So after a mini panic and running to find her, she managed to sit me down and help me dislodge more of whatever was blocking my breathing (probably the same junk that's giving me breathing problems right now). Unfortunately, I started having a panic attack at some point during this (I couldn't freaking breathe ._.) which made everything worse because it only made trying to breathe suck more.

So, after that we wound up in the emergency room because my tongue started swelling up, too. We were there for a while, got X-rays and tests done, eventually found out that I now have bronchitis too. They put me on some prescriptions (and also said that my doctor on Thursday should've given me medication, you know, LIKE I ASKED HER TO) and told me to stay at home for a while. So I'm missing more work. AWESOME! Not. :| Blehg. I'm anticipating being home until Tuesday. Hopefully I can turn this around and get back in for Wednesday... fail.

So I've pretty much been spamming the shit out of Tales of Vesperia (or, I have been when I haven't been finishing up/trying to finish up other games). The game is awesome. I liked the game at first, and then loved it after a while... but I had completely forgotten how absolutely character focused these games are. And now it's my favorite character's turn for some serious character development/side stories/background... and I am eating it up like a pig. You know how to hold me Vesperia, I'll give you that much. I think I like a character, and then the game gives me 10 reasons to like them more. So I'm going to go play and swoon more.

So happy this game is getting a cinematic movie. *_* Fffffff.

... and now I'm sick.

Sore throat, nausea, headaches, temp, aches...

Work told me to just stay home for the rest of the week. :( I'm pretty sure fate just really doesn't want this website to ever get finished.

I'm tired of sitting on my ass. I really need to work out. But apparently what I have (not swine flu, btw :P) is super contagious, so I should just quarantine myself. Unlike whoever gave it to me. Me and my mom (who is also sick) have money on the coughing kid at the movie theater.

I hate parents who bring their sick-ass children places, like movie theaters and restaurants. You're fucking things up for the rest of us. D:
